Radio society
The Martlesham Radio Society was founded in the 1970s with a call of G4BPO (British Post Office). Its current call sign is G4MRS (Martlesham Radio Society).
The club has microwave beacons and DX cluster installed in the Martlesham Radio Tower - one of the tallest buildings in Suffolk. It operates from a well-equipped 'shack' on the Martlesham site.
