Adastral Park employees raise funds for NSPCC through Microsoft UK Challenge
Thank you to our colleagues at Adastral Park who kindly donated over £128 on 22 May, when our team demonstrated ‘cycle roller racing’ at the Adastral Park Hub. Three Adastral Park employees will be taking part in the Microsoft UK Challenge event being held this year at Stirling in Scotland. The three - Paul Martin, James Gardiner and Marshall Crowe of BT Design - are members of a joint BT Operate/Design team which has been training hard with recent weekends in the Brecon Beacons and West Country.
The main event will take place over 4 days and nights from June 12th. It involves running, mountain biking, kayaking, construction challenges – otherwise known as ‘intelligent sports’ where brain is also pitted against lungs, heart and muscle. There will be 120 teams (involving around 800 competitors) from top UK companies all competing for various categories of award.
The event is organised by Challenger Sports in support of the NSPCC Charity and it will be televised on Channel 4 and also on several cable channels. MSUKC is the second largest corporate fundraising event after the London Marathon and last year in excess of £500,000 was raised. Our BT team (108) has a target to raise £20,000 from corporate and individual sponsors.
Thanks again for all donations and pledges given on the 22nd. If you would like to make a donation it is possible to do so online; please go to www.nspcc.org.uk/challenger & sponsor team 108
